1. Who We Are

BullShield (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by djam.ai, a software development company registered in the United Kingdom. BullShield is an AI-powered conversation analysis tool available at bullshield.ai.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect the following data when you use BullShield:

  • Account data: Email address and authentication credentials (managed by Clerk).
  • Audio data (CallShield): When you use live call mode, audio from your device microphone is streamed to Deepgram for speech-to-text transcription. We do not store raw audio. Transcripts are processed in real-time and not permanently stored on our servers unless data collection is enabled.
  • Text data (TextShield): Conversations you paste for analysis are sent to our API for processing. We do not permanently store the conversations you submit unless data collection is enabled.
  • Analysis data: AI-generated analysis results (BS scores, detected tactics, suggested responses) may be logged in anonymised form to improve our service.
  • Usage data: Session duration, feature usage, and feedback (thumbs up/down on responses).
  • Payment data: Handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and improve the BullShield service.
  • To process your subscription payments via Stripe.
  • To train and improve our AI models (using anonymised, PII-redacted data only).
  • To communicate with you about your account or service updates.

4. Data Processing & Third Parties

We use the following third-party services to operate BullShield:

  • Anthropic (Claude): AI analysis of conversations. Data sent to Anthropic is subject to their usage policies.
  • Deepgram: Real-time speech-to-text transcription for live call mode.
  • Clerk: Authentication and user management.
  • Stripe: Payment processing.
  • Railway: Application hosting.

5. PII Redaction & Anonymisation

When data collection is enabled for service improvement, we automatically redact personally identifiable information (PII) including card numbers, sort codes, email addresses, phone numbers, and postcodes before storage. User identifiers are hashed using SHA-256 so no raw user IDs are stored in training data.

6. Data Retention

  • Account data is retained for as long as your account exists.
  • Audio is streamed in real-time and not stored by us.
  • Anonymised analysis logs may be retained indefinitely for model improvement.
  • You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

7. Your Rights (UK GDPR)

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data.
  • Data portability.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.

8. Cookies & Local Storage

BullShield uses localStorage to persist your settings, feedback history, and session preferences. We use essential cookies for authentication (via Clerk). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

9. Security

We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. Authentication is handled by Clerk with industry-standard security. Payment processing is handled by Stripe (PCI DSS compliant). We follow security best practices but no system is 100% secure.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
